Yes, 102 weeks ago! That's nearly two years.
I am now going into third year at uOttawa. Working full-time for the government. I work as a web editor, doing fun accessible coding all day. So perhaps that's why I haven't updated in 102 weeks.
I mainly am writing this to express my utmost
D:
at the loss of two of my favourite communities. WTF is with people taking the ~*~*~internetz~*~*~ so seriously!? These were my sources of daily lulz and self-esteem boosts!
Anyway, I still read my friend's list religiously. All of your entries. All the time. It keeps me entertained at work, especially you,
4hour_ramona and
pilarcruz! And the communities. This is what LJ is about, son!
Anyway, this has been my summer:

Any questions?

TONIGHT!

Everyone who knows me and/or Grant Barnes, or even if you don't really know me... come to my going-away party! Tomorrow I move to Ottawa. Mr. Ian Sequiera will be performing with his friends, and there will be good times all around!
Call 416 829 9270 for details. My house is totally empty and I have a motherfucking trampoline!
It's mostly BYOB but you never know...

Muse was... just incredible.

( I COULD SEE THE BEADS OF SWEAT ON MATT BELLAMY'S FOREHEAD )
I got a setlist. I almost passed out in the pit, but managed to get out in time. It was hot, sweaty and sexy.
Amazing.

I'm going to Ottawa to find an apartment.
I'll be back Thursday afternoon, and have my cellphone if you need to get in touch. I have lots to update about when I get back, including the St. Mike's choir after-prom party, Bloc Party and Broken Social Scene, Pilate, Canada Day and more.
Sayonara, lovers!

Don't be afraid,
Open your mouth and say;
Say what your soul sings to you.
Your mind can never change
Unless you ask it to,
Lovingly re-arrange
The thoughts that make you blue.
The things that bring you down
Only do harm to you
So make your choice joy;
The joy belongs to you.
And when you do,
You'll find the one you love is you,
You'll find you love you.
Tomorrow I graduate.
Tomorrow is prom.

The last few days. What's missing is picture evidence of the incredible weekend spent in Bowmanville, movie night spent with Charlotte, pot smoking, manicures, hair dying and hot sex.
The times, they are a-changin'.
Leave some sort of comment and...
1. I'll respond with something random I like about you.
2. I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.
3: I'll name something we should do together.
4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me (or just me).
5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you.
6. I'll leave you a quote that is somehow appropriate to you.
7. I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you.
8. If I do this for you, you must post this on your journal so you can do the same for other people.

DAY VII
The day started in Crete, bright and early for a ruin. It was not exciting. We also went to a museum... also not exciting.

Afterwards, we hopped back aboard the ship and set sail for Santorini, our last stop on the cruise. Obviously, they saved the most beautiful for last.
( Runaway donkeys, mad tequila and whirling dervishes, oh my! )
God, that makes me reminisce.
Good times.
In other news of parallel universes, Meghan is excited for prom and got an insane-looking dress from Value Village for half-off $24.99.

You won't ever be happy will you?
It seems like every monument I build and every thing I achieve is just never enough, there's always criticism. Nothing is ever good enough for you. I don't get support, I get antagonism.
This is not how this relationship is supposed to go. You are supposed to be the mother, the unending source of love and compassion and caring.
I realize now I've never felt love from you. You are the root cause of every unhappy moment in my life. I hope you're proud.

I'd just like to let you all know.
My friend Ian (and by friend I mean really really good awesome friend who I take care of when he faints) is having his first real show with his band, Bonsai Forestry tomorrow.
Wednesday, May 31st
9:00 pm @ the Bagel
285 College Street (at Spadina)
Ski-meat presents:
ERIC CHENAUX - Rat-drifter by day, Hendrix-hair puller by reputation, Chenaux deconstructs guitar playing like no other - combining Bailey-esque deterioration lines into dexterous pluck and thrum. Strictly for those into arcane extrication and wavering house-boat intoxication flung into 6-string format.
KNURL/CHRIS WORDEN - A showcase of two major players in the toronto noise canon: alan bloor, who has been bestowing the world with discordant skull-rattles since the 80's on RRRecords, Gameboy and Self Abuse, among others... AND Chris Worden, propietor of the japanese-inclined C3R label and intense noise-mongrel in his own right... collaboration!
BONSAI FORESTRY - Is a band i have never heard, which is more of a reason to come check them out! I gather that they are some psych/folkies with an agenda to expand your mind, guy. [Ian say: we blow the hell out of yo' wzam, so come love us hardcore and we'll do the same. Editor out!]
FLOWERS OF THE DEAD - A premier of Double Leopards/Zaimph kind of drone from the makers of Metal Islands/Women in Tragedy. A two piece that evolves into different hum textures and wall-paper gazing. Totally smoked out and deviating - electric mantra with the floor collapsing into nirvana and stuff.
CHARLES BALLS - Short set because I feel like it. Member of those shitty bands that play too many shows. Buy my new split with crank sturgeon, show up early and inquire as to why i carry on!

So the moral of the story is, you all should come. It's pay-what-you-can, too and there's cheap beer (they don't ID). The Bagel is this fantastic kitschy diner venue. You can't lose! I'll be there!

DAY V
This day began bright and fucking early in Kusadasi, Turkey.

We visited Ephesus, some ancient city or something. It was interesting. Turkey was madinsanecore.

( Turkish delight (not the kind you think), genuine fake watches and straightening irons galore! )
It's interesting how we shape and mold people, and never even realize or become conscious of it until far after. The impact you make on someone's life could be vast but you can't see it yet.
Every small action you do, every thing you recommend, every smile you flash, could be a huge hinging point in someone's life.
I'm see this now, in you.

You may hate us. You may dismiss us. You may misunderstand us. You may be unaware of our existence.
We were first drawn by the sound. From far away, the thunderous, muffled, echoing beat was comparable to a mother's heart soothing a child in her womb of concrete, steel and electrical wiring. We were drawn back into this womb, and there, in the heat, dampness, and darkness of it, we came to accept that we are all equal. Not only to the darkness, and to ourselves, but to the very music slamming into us and passing through our souls: we are all equal. And somewhere around 35 Hz we could feel the hand of God at our backs, pushing us forward, pushing us to push ourselves to strengthen our minds, our bodies, and our spirits. Pushing us to turn to the person beside us to join hands and uplift them by sharing the uncontrollable joy we felt from creating this magical bubble that can, for one evening, protect us from the horrors, atrocities, and pollution of the outside world. it is in that very instant, with these initial realizations that each of us was truly born.
Strong, throbbing, vibrant life in it's purest, most intense, most hedonistic form. We seek to relinquish our inhibitions, and free ourselves from the shackles and restraints you've put on us for your own peace of mind. We seek to re-write the programming that you have tried to indoctrinate us with since the moment we were born. Programming that tells us to hate, that tells us to judge, that tells us to stuff ourselves into the nearest and most convenient pigeonhole possible. Programming that even tells us to climb ladders for you, jump through hoops, and run through mazes and on hamster wheels. Programming that tells us to eat from the shiny silver spoon you are trying to feed us with, instead of nourish ourselves with our own capable hands. Programming that tells us to close our minds, instead of open them.
Our enemy of choice is ignorance. Our weapon of choice is information. Our crime of choice is breaking and challenging whatever laws you feel you need to put in place to stop us from celebrating our existence.
Well, this weekend was good, to say the least.

I fell in love.

Day III
Day three started out pretty well. But as soon as we heard the itinerary, we knew we were done: pack, check out, head to Pompeii, climb Mt. Vesuvius, 3.5 hour busride to Rome, flight to Athens. Without a shower.

( Volcanoes and penises and cruises oh my! )
This week has been good. My world was shattered on Friday night (for a while, I was Edward Scissorhands). This Friday begins "Fear & Loathing in Ottawa". Yes, you guessed it. Plus, we're seeing Pilate at the Tulip Festival.
I'm going to University of Ottawa.
Sigh.

DAY I
The morning we left was 4/20, so being the faithful stoner that I was, I smoked a large joint with Ian at 420am in a park. And it was a beautiful feeling. I pulled an all-nighter in anticipation of the flight to Europe. Our flight left Toronto around 5pm.

The view of the Swiss/Italian Alps from the airplane. Now let me tell you something about Alitalia. It is absolute shit. All our flights were delayed, the food was terrible (why wouldn't they just serve pizza?), the service was terrible, the airplanes were really old... but they did have excellent pressed coffee. We had to fly from Toronto to Milan, and then Milan to Rome.

( Tequila and chairlifts and lemons oh my! )
Tomorrow is the Stills show.
It will be good.
